I attended the Manchester Fashion Awards a couple of weeks back with my sister who was representing flux magazine. It was a great event that was held in The heart of Manchester at Saint Anne's Square. During the evening awards were given out to Manchester fashion graduates for their designs and one award in particular caught my eye, it was for the BEST INDEPENDENT RETAILER that went to The Junk Shop. I had never heard of the shop before which is surprising as I am in the Northern quarter most weekends searching the vintage shops, so I decided to take a look the next day. The shop is hidden away almost, it just misses being on the mark of Oldham road. Outside the shop is a rack of vintage bikes, the store itself ignoring its name the Junk Shop has a clutter of vintage finds and handmade items. The price range is great and everything is unique!
