I Need These!!

I attended the Manchester Fashion Awards a couple of weeks back with my sister who was representing flux magazine. It was a great event that was held in The heart of Manchester at Saint Anne's Square. During the evening awards were given out to Manchester fashion graduates for their designs and one award in particular caught my eye, it was for the BEST INDEPENDENT RETAILER that went to The Junk Shop. I had never heard of the shop before which is surprising as I am in the Northern quarter most weekends searching the vintage shops, so I decided to take a look the next day. The shop is hidden away almost, it just misses being on the mark of Oldham road. Outside the shop is a rack of vintage bikes, the store itself ignoring its name the Junk Shop has a clutter of vintage finds and handmade items. The price range is great and everything is unique! If you get a chance check it out!      http://www.junkshopblog.com/

I came across these today while shopping and how cute are they?

Forever 21 Arrives in The UK!!

Forever 21 is based in LA, it has over 480 stores in the US and internationally! Now it has arrived in the    UK starting with Birmingham as its first location of many according to the Vice president Larry Meyer who said: “Our business is primed for significant international growth this year. Bullring is an ideal location and we are looking forward to expanding our business into Birmingham and other parts of the UK.”
Manchester? Maybe?

Back to School

The Backpack V  The Satchel

The two "it" bags of the moment! As everyone is going back to school, college, and university I thought I would tribute a post to the most creative part of the uniform that creates individuality without breaking the school uniform rules. The bag has become the "it" accessory again making it the return of the IT BAG. When I was in school the only item that we had no rules on was our bags, everything else had to be navy, white, and knee length.  The bag separates the Indie kidz to the scene kids, however this year there are no attachments to the style of the bag. With the two most popular bags being the messenger satchel and the preppy back pack they are  both very practical and there is no need for ditching the pencil case and only taking in a pen because it doesn't  fit in your tiny side bag.
So with the return of the bag which one will you be wearing?

Everyone is Talking About.......
hm lanvin logo.jpg

Rumour on the High street cobbles is that H&M are expanding there list of designer collaborations, this time with Lanvin. This speculation was brought from YouTube videos on Lanvins own channel. The clips feature Designers who are inconspicuous leaving the rumours speculating from Vivienne Westwood to Rick Owens. However the general consensus seems to point towards Alber Elbaz of Lanvin.

So is this a good or bad thing? Will this take the luxury away from Lanvin and into H&M? We are yet to find out, however something tells me all will be revealed soon.
